How do I register my pharmacy with Cannvalate?

Registering to become a preferred partner of Cannvalate is quick and straightforward. Simply email us at and we will get you set up. Registration takes less than ten minutes.

You will need to provide basic information about your pharmacy, including the name and AHPRA number of the pharmacist who will be acting as the main contact. You can review a copy of our Terms & Conditions for more information.

How does Cannvalate work?

Cannvalate streamlines and simplifies the complicated and unfamiliar process of accessing, prescribing and dispensing medicinal cannabis for pharmacies, prescribers and patients.

For pharmacies that register with Cannvalate, we provide support to ensure that you comply with all regulatory requirements, as well as enabling direct access to approved suppliers of medicinal cannabis products.

What requirements do I need to comply with to dispense medicinal cannabis?

In Australia, the Commonwealth Department of Health regulates medicinal cannabis products through the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and the Office of Drug Control (ODC). Additionally, there are state and territory level requirements for the prescription and dispensement of medicinal cannabis.

When you are presented with a script, all appropriate approvals must be in place before you can place an order or dispense the medicinal cannabis. Cannvalate simplifies this process for you by ensuring that we only send you approved scripts and by shipping the required products for you to dispense directly.

If you are presented with a script by a patient directly, we can work with you to fill those orders.

What do I need to provide to my patients?

When you are selected to dispense a medicinal cannabis prescription to a patient, you will be provided with a patient leaflet which contains important dosage information so you can support your patients better.

Prior to dispensing, you will be required to check that all regulatory requirements have been met.

When the patient collects the medicine, the pharmacist on duty will need to explain key quality use of medicine messages to the patient.
